The curse of doubting yourself is being unable to rely on your instincts- only your insecurities. With every movement through life, you begin to develop the habit of second guessing what you project to the world. I suppose I’ve been on a trajectory to doubt myself completely since birth. Instead of trusting the process, relying on instincts, it’s almost easier to add an extra layer of unworthiness. It protects you from failing if you’re already expecting to, right?
It’s dark stuff, wading through the inner workings of our demons. Mostly self inflicted, we all walk together battling something no one knows about. Through vague, mundane conversations, we’ll find a way to relate our tragedies.
Then a spark of relation ignites when we see ourselves in other people. Realizing everyone is trying to get through the day, make it to the weekend and enjoy what we have- it makes the enduring worth it.
I’m trying to take the mindset that carries me toward self acceptance, rather than the road more traveled- self doubt.
I challenge you to try the same.
