10 Must-Haves From Trader Joe’s

So little fun fact about me: I f**king love Trader Joe’s. 

I actually used to work there for a hot minute (and yes, it did ruin the magic for a bit.) I shop there for alll my groceries to make my meal prep for the week and snacks and such. I thought I would share my top 10 FAV items so that you can be hooked just like me! 

  1. Dark chocolate covered almonds– seriously my FAV after dinner snack. They’re not 100% super clean but they’re better than the fattening cookies or ice cream that I want! I always keep these close- for chocolate emergencies of course. 
  2. Coconut oil cooking spray- okay this one might seem kinda random but I would be a liar if I didn’t include this on my favs list! I use this for just about everything. It’s so handy & doesn’t make anything taste too sweet, I hardly ever even taste the coconut but I like using it instead of olive oil for lighter meals. 
  3. Vegan Pesto– If this isn’t in my fridge, something is very, very wrong. I buy this every time I go in because 1. I’m a freak about pesto & 2. It’s always nice when I don’t have a dinner plan! I’ll usually make it with red lentil pasta and add pine nuts, fresh spices, chicken (not vegan but it cancels out right?) and cheese! I’m not vegan but this pesto is super healthy and it tastes super fresh! 
  4. Plantain chips– I had always wanted to try these & I remember when I first bought these I was wondering where they had been all my life. I’m a huge potato chip girl, so these really help curb that craving!! I’ll usually make a tuna/chicken salad and eat it with them or just some hummus! 
  5. Frozen Veggie Quinoa– I ALWAYS have this on hand. I’ll usually make this with their apple chicken sausage and eat it during the week. It has THE BEST flavor and it always keeps me full. 
  6. Green Goddess Dressing– this salad dressing is so tasty and all the ingredients are super fresh! I’ll usually use this to make salad for lunches and sometimes I’ll marinate my chicken in it! 
  7. Mushroom Ravioli– I love buying this for an easy dinner. This is so flavorful and one of my all-time favorites!! Shoutout to all my mushroom lovers. 
  8. ABC bars– these little bars have so much flavor! I always like keeping stuff like this around to just grab and it also tastes SO good. 
  9. Low-fat granola cereal– this is my FAV lazy morning breakfast. I’ll usually add some bananas and cinnamon on top and it keeps me full! 
  10. Eggplant Hummus– I just recently tried this and I’m in LOVE! I could always use some more veggies in my diet so the fact that this hummus has eggplant in it is a win for me! 

My dad and I always go back & forth about how Trader Joe’s has healthy options at a super reasonable price (he thinks it’s too expensive but I’m workin on him, don’t worry). Also!! Just because some of these items are found at Trader’s, doesn’t make them automatically healthy. While I sooo wish that were true, there are such healthy options.
