During spring break, J & I wanted to go on a little getaway and I found the cutest little cabin tucked away in Idyllwild, CA. I hadn’t been since I was a kid and it was even cuter than I remember. We’ve been so consumed with school, work and all the stress that comes along with it. I couldn’t have asked for a better getaway to clear my head and also make me never want spring break to end!
The drive up was kind of horrible because of how late we left and driving up a mountain already sucks but in the pitch black it’s ten times worse.. J was a champ though and we made it up safe! We walked the cute streets of the downtown little (very little) town and had such good food.
WHERE WE STAYED:
•Idyllwild Bunkhouse// I found it on Groupon and got a great deal! We had our own little balcony and kitchenette and the bed was so comfy. It was super close to downtown but just far enough away. Highly recommend!
WHERE WE ATE:
•Tbh there’s really not a ton of options because of how small the town is for real… but we had breakfast at Red Kettle and it was BOMB.
• We had lunch at Crazy Train Pub and it was very simple bar food, J didn’t care for it but I liked it!
•Then we had dinner (after stuffing our faces with cheese and wine that we brought) at Idyllwild Brewpub. They have a great beer selection and the food was amazing. Not to mention the atmosphere was really nice and so were the people!
•We got coffee also at their town’s coffee shop on our way home!
TIPS:
•So as I said before, I definitely don’t recommend driving up at night just because of how windy and scary it was!
•I wish we could’ve hiked, it was the perfect weather for it but weren’t there long enough to go on a good hike. They have TONS of awesome trails too.
•I have a tripod that holds my phone and also seconds as a selfie stick that I will never leave on a couple getaway without! It was perfect for getting a cute shot together. This is the one I used!
