Going The Extra Mile

Today I went on a ten mile hike in a beautiful area that had me amazed at almost every corner I turned. Being outside today was so therapeutic. It soothed me and brought temporary comfort about the way of our world. Just listening to the stream of running water, exploring under the shaded trees and jumping off a rock into freezing cold creek water- today was unforgettable ✨

With all the inspiration that nature gives me, I channeled it into writing a short poem:

Nature’s Calling

Without the stream there would be only heat rising.

The silence escaped from the trees as their leaves graced the ground.

Walking and walking I couldn’t help but think of us.

How lucky, how fortunate to see the beauty this Earth brings.

Without its grace and without the bountiful blessings- we would remain obsolete.

The silent trees, the streaming creek- small helpers in the effort to remain bountiful and beautiful.

Without the grace and without us listening, we are nothing.
