So, instead of my usual posts about life and my take on certain aspects of it, I decided to share a piece that I wrote last semester to read in front of my creative writing class. I want to make my blog honest, passionate, different and most of all- most of me. This poem is definitely not my best and I also wrote it in 10 minutes, but I wanted to start small as far as sharing my personal pieces. Writing challenges me and keeps me on my toes but its something I love and it makes me feel free. I hope to share much more with all of you in the future- praying that I actually have one in writing. Anyways, thank you for reading and thank you for the continuous support, this is a poem I wrote inspired by my guy♥
I Looked At Him
Danielle Rabe
I looked at him and I saw light.
His light and my love all tangled in brown eyes.
Messy complexion, organized chaos.
That was us.
He was us, too.
I looked at him and I saw poise.
No rushing, not even to me.
Only fixed serenity and passionate love.
I looked at him and I saw my dreams.
He held my hand and I felt fire.
I felt fire in the deepest part of my being.
He pushed me— not too much and just enough.
Without his tact, I’m undone.
I looked at him and I saw a future.
Paisley bedspread, little pink people.
Fluffy dogs and warm coffee mornings.
I looked at him and I saw the world.
But, I wondered.
I wondered what he saw when he looked at me.
